Princess Diana Inquest – Diana’s Boyfriend’s Statement & Paul Burrell explains himself- 8/3/08

As the evidence drew to a close, the time came for Diana’s substantive boyfriend for the final two years of her life to give his side of the story. Dr Hasnat Khan had moved to Pakistan in 2007 and declined to appear at the Inquest in person however he gave a statement to the Metropolitan Police’s Operation Paget team in 2004. The statement was read out to the court as were the written answers to questions the Coroner had sent to him consequential on his statement.

Another statement was read from Diana’s former Butler, Paul Burrell, explaining his filmed admission in a New York hotel room that he had not told the full truth to the inquest.
Martyn Gregory was in Paris filming his excellent documentary for Sky News that was broadcast when the verdict was announced on 7 April so Sky reporter Ursula Errington took his place that week.
