ClevverMusic has the deets on the Tupac story that hit the web over the weekend, so stay tuned!
Hi guys, welcome back to ClevverMusic. I’m Bridget Daly in Hollywood. You probably heard about a story circulating the web over the weekend claiming Tupac Shakur is alive and well, and living in New Zealand. The story was posted on the PBS website of their Newshour program, but was later taken down. A tweet from the “NewsHour” Twitter account said: “If you missed it: our site has been accessed by hackers. Thanks for staying with us.” The story alleged that Tupac, who was killed in 1996, was actually living in a small resort town in New Zealand. The hackers spoke out about the story, saying they thought about having one saying Obama was choking on a marshmallow, but decided to go with the Tupac one instead.
According to the reports, the hackers, who go by the name LulzSec, were upset by a recent Frontline program about WikiLeaks, and put up the Tupac story to get back at PBS. Apparently they’ve attacked severak other high profile organizations in the last month, so other sites may be compromised!
