The Stonehenge Conspiracy
A reexamination of the theory that the stones at Stonehenge were carried by Neolithic tribesmen from sites far away, including West Wales. It is concluded that this is nothing but a popular myth; that the sarsens were collected locally; and that the bluestones were in all probability carried by glacier ice to the vicinity of Stonehenge. There they were collected up over a wider and wider radius — and eventually, the builders lost motivation, ran out of energy and ran out of stones. So Stonehenge was really just an aberration or a folly, and it was never finished.
