Book of Thoth: Tarot as Living Beings
Aleister Crowley’s descriptions of the behaviours and characteristics of the tarot cards take us into new territory. Divinatory Meanings are never mentioned in the Book of Thoth. Students worry they cannot remember the meanings of tarot cards – but this is the correct method, for in magical actions when the deed has been done, the key is to forget, to allow the subconscious to work, and not keep things at the conscious level.
The five stages of the OOTK spread are entitled Operations – which is to do with magick. Crowley says divination is one of the most difficult arts of magick, and it is open to abuse.
