Phoenix Lights – the real thing
This timelapse was taken in November 2005 from Kitt Peak. I set up my camera and used a 70mm lens to aim to the northwest in the general direction of the Goldwater Gunnery Range. This timelapse covers almost 5 hours and the activity dies down during the 2nd half. You can see planes and flares and other activity over the range. The golden colored flares are often mistaken for UFOs as was done in March 1997 in an incident called the “Phoenix Lights”
