HARRY POTTER HAS REAL WITCHCRAFT!!!!

I spent my childhood enjoying the Harry Potter series. Like all Harry Potter fans, I cried when Doby died, laugh at Peeves shenanigans, and celebrated when Delores Umbringe was sent to Azkaban to live the remainder of her life..However, as I got older, I found many people were not laughing, crying, and celebrating like the rest of us Harry Potter fans. But not because they were just not interested, but because these people actually feared the book.
Since the series launched in 1998, many religious groups criticized the series, claiming it poisoned the minds of our youth, and tainted their souls, leaving them to burn in the firey depths of hell, while J.K. Rowling sat between Satan and Hitler, pointing and laughing at the innocent souls she single-handedly destroyed.
These people believed that Harry Potter was evil because it encouraged witchcraft. As an adult, I laugh at this belief, but after reflecting on my childhood, I cannot deny that I never hoped for a letter from Hogwarts. As I thought even more, as an adult I still check for my letter, although, I am now old enough to understand the definition of the word “fiction.”
This realization made me start thinking, maybe Harry Potter was evil after all. While I do admit to waiting for my Hogwarts letter, I still have never attempted witchcraft. To understand the religious criticism surrounding the series, I knew I had to take my love of the series to a whole new level.
The biggest criticism these religious groups give the series is that it promotes witchcraft. Well I began thinking, if you are going to promote people to do an action, that action has to be possible. It would be like saying Peter Pan is bad, because it makes kids believe they can fly. But no matter how hard you believe, or how many drugs you force into your body, you cannot fly.
I decided I should give these religious groups a chance. After all, these are people who are passionate about their beliefs. They get lots of negative criticism, but keep in mind, these are still people who believe what they are doing is the right thing, and are actually believe that they are helping save children’s souls by educating them of the dangers of Harry Potter.
As ridiculous as that may sound, there are few people in the world who actually look out for other people. And while we do disagree with their beliefs, you cannot deny it is, in it’s own way, admirable.
In my own admiration for these people, I dedicate this video to those who work hard trying to change the ways of our youth for the better. It is those people who inspire me to make this video, and give my the courage to get out of bed every day. This one’s for you! Enjoy!
