Anunnaki was a collective term for deities in general, especially those who were not otherwise named. Dr. Jeremy Black and Dr. Anthony Green write that the word eventually suggested the deities of earth and the underworld after the term Igigi was used more to refer to the heavenly deities.
The Anunnaki appear in the Babylonian creation myth, Enuma Elish. In the late version magnifying Marduk, after the creation of mankind, Marduk divides the Anunnaki and assigns them to their proper stations, three hundred in heaven, three hundred on the earth. In gratitude, the Anunnaki, the “Great Gods”, built Esagila, the splendid: “They raised high the head of Esagila equaling Apsu. Having built a stage-tower as high as Apsu, they set up in it an abode for Marduk, Enlil, Ea.” Then they built their own shrines.
According to later Babylonian myth, the Anunnaki were the children of Anu and Ki, brother and sister gods, themselves the children of Anshar and Kishar (Skypivot and Earthpivot, the Celestial poles), who in turn were the children of Lahamu and Lahmu (“the muddy ones”), names given to the gatekeepers of the Abzu temple at Eridu, the site at which the creation was thought to have occurred. Read Genesis 6: 1-4 .. & Chap. 11 … very carefully, The Nephilim Giants … where we find 4 paragraphs full of enlightening words, Not of religion, but of Gods descending & mating with the women of Man .. and of Giants, skeletons of which, have been subsequently found .. worth a browse if nothing else … and if you have time, follow the “ARK” … more revelations if you read carefully .. the ARC was Not a Chalice or tablets of stone, BUT a Powerful object that could move of it’s own accord & make rivers & sea part, could bring down the walls of Jericho !! .. yeah i know, then why were the Jews carrying it ? … because they wanted it’s sacred geometry & power, and had taken it on their exodus from Egypt .. Raiders of the lost Ark stuff this is ..
The Ark of the Covenant is a vessel described in the Bible as containing the Tablets of Stone on which the Ten Commandments were inscribed, along with Aaron’s rod and manna. According to the Pentateuch, the Ark was built at the command of God, in accord with Moses’ prophetic vision on Mount Sinai (Exodus 25:10-16). God was said to have communicated with Moses “from between the two cherubim” on the Ark’s cover (Exodus 25:22). The Ark and its sanctuary were considered “the beauty of Israel” (Lamentations 2:1). Rashi and some Midrashim suggest that there were two arks – a temporary one made by Moses himself, and a later one constructed by Bezalel.
