Venus, Earth and Mars: Atmosphere and the Myth the Habitable Zone

Many have used the concept of the habitability zone to explain Earth’s temperate climate and the extreme heat and cold of Venus and Mars respectively. However, analysing the atmospheric make-up of each of the planets, the habitability is not based solely on distance from the sun, but heat retention, another factor helping us understand whether life is in fact common in the universe.
