Is the earth flat? Watch to find out.

So I’ve been experimenting with new styles of video, seeing if I can upload without my video being tower simulations. It’s been interesting so far, and I’ve had to brush up on other techniques. Like for this video, the 3D animation part was easy, and the challenge was in the editing (something I don’t spend much time on usually).

It was also interesting to create this scale model of the earth – it actually pushed the limits of what Blender can do. Scaling up an earth to 12,000km was tricky, and started to introduce some weird artefacts. I had to get around this by making everything 1,000 times smaller. So the earth was 1,000 times smaller and so was the dude, so that the scale difference between them is still accurate.
