Old Mother Shipton’s Cave and Petrifying spring.
In Knaresborough, Yorkshire there is the famous petrifying spring and cave where the 16th century prophetess Old Mother Shipton was born and lived. It is said that Old mother Shipton predicted air travel, the internet, telecommunications and space travel.
The petrifying spring water travels to the surface from a lake deep in the earth collecting minerals and other elements. If objects are left suspended under the water the objects begin to harden and become like stone. The site is world famous and many famous people have visited leaving various articles to be “petrified”. John Wayne and various members of the Royal family past and present have visited here.
