New X-MEN Viral Site Implicates Magneto In JFK Assassination

A recent X-Men Days of Future Past photo shows young Magneto in prison and thanks to a new viral site, we now know why he’s there. The fiftieth anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination was not only a time to reflect on that harrowing day in history, but it also rekindled the long standing conspiracy that a second gunman was on the grassy knoll. A recent viral site called The Bent Bullet suggests that it wasn’t a second gunman that helped kill the president, but a mutant. And not any mutant, but Magneto himself. The site consists of a video setting up the conspiracy and Magneto’s involvement with the death of Kennedy and an article that takes place in a present day timeline in which Magneto has been convicted of the crime and spent the last fifty years in a secret underground prison. Keep in mind that X-Men: First Class took place in 1962 during the Cuban Missile Crisis, a year before Kennedy’s assassination. Following those events, Magneto forms the Brotherhood of Mutants. In response, the CIA creates a task force called Project: WideAwake in order to keep track of what they call a “pro-mutant terrorist group”. A former US Army Major General named Edwin Partridge from Dallas used his contacts to learn about the mutants involvement in the Cuban Missile Crisis and gain support to try and stop what he considered a threat “more dangerous than any nuclear weapon.” Magneto allegedly recruited Lee Harvey Oswald to assassinate Partridge which ended up angering his supporters and potentially lead to the president’s death. On November 22nd, 1963, an amateur photographer snapped a pic of Magneto on the infamous grassy knoll, which lead the Warren Commission to suggest that Magneto had once again recruited Oswald to take out the President and used his powers of magnetism to control the bullets Oswald fired. This seemingly explained the existence of the much talked about “bent bullet” also known as the “magic bullet”. As the finger started being pointed at Magneto, he ended up turning himself in to police in February 1964. During his secret trial he admitted to being on the grassy knoll, but said he was there to save the president, not kill him. He also hinted that it may not have been Oswald he was trying to stop from killing the president. Though the article doesn’t say it directly, it does suggest that Mystique was actually the person who fired the shot, disguised as Oswald. Why? It’s revealed that Brotherhood members Azazel and Tempest were killed by Project: WideAwake operatives four months prior to Kennedy being assassinated. You may remember Tempest, also known as Angel Salvadore was recruited along with Mystique by Xavier and Magneto in First Class and both left with Magneto to join the Brotherhood. Azazel too joined the Brotherhood at the end of First Class and though Mystique and Azazel didn’t have much interaction in the film, they are the parents of Nightcrawler in the comics. If you want to read the full article, we have the link below, but we’re guessing this timeline ends up being altered when Wolverine’s mind is sent to his younger self as we see in the trailer Magneto is released or escapes from prison to confront and possibly stop Mystique from creating the event that leads to the dystopian future.
