Moldea on the rise and fall of Jimmy Hoffa – Part 1

In this October 1978 interview, Dan Moldea–author of the 1978 book, “The Hoffa Wars: Teamsters, Rebels, Politicians and the Mob”–discusses the rise of fall of former Teamsters leader Jimmy Hoffa of Detroit, who disappeared on July 30, 1975. Also, Moldea was the first reporter to allege that Hoffa, New Orleans Mafia boss Carlos Marcello and Tampa Mafia boss Santo Trafficante arranged and executed the 1963 murder of President John Kennedy. In July 1979, the U.S. House Select Committee on Assassinations concluded in its final report that Hoffa, Marcello and Trafficante had the “motive, means and opportunity” to have the President killed. G. Robert Blakey, the chief counsel of the committee, declared emphatically, “The mob did it. It is a historical fact.”
