Is Our Galaxy Full of Planets? A Post-Kepler conference II discussion

a hangout with SETI Institute scientists Jason Rowe, Doug Caldwell and Kepler mission scientist Natalie Batalha. Hosted and moderated by SETI Institute scientist Franck Marchis.

We will discuss several exciting results presented at the Kepler science conference II. Jason Rowe announced the discovery of 833 new planet candidates including several in the habitable zone of their host star. From a remarkable statistical analysis of Kepler data, scientists believe more than a fifth of sun-like stars in the Milky Way are likely to host planets roughly the size and temperature of Earth.
