Golden Dawn MPs on trial for criminal gang activity
Golden Dawn MPs Giorgos Germenis, Panagiotis Iliopoulos and Efstathios Boukouras arrived at the Hellenic Supreme Court of Civil and Penal Law in Athens on Saturday to face trial on charges of operating a criminal gang.
The Golden Dawn spokesman, Ilias Kasidiaris, said: “Terrorists move around freely. All the deceivers of PASOK and New Democracy move around freely. Not one minister or MP has been interrogated for the scandals and bribes. The only ones forced to interrogation and illegal imprisonment are Golden Dawn MPs. We hope that today the Greek justice system will stand to its height and will not surrender to illegal political pressures.”
Efstathios Boukouras displayed confidence prior to the trial, saying “I am here, as I said from the first moment, available for the justice system. I am here based on a false witness. All these lies will fail, the truth will shine. Thank you very much.”
The party leader, Nikolaos Michaloliakos, is also currently awaiting trial on the same charges.
