The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil’s Triangle, is a loosely defined region in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean, where a number of aircraft and ships are said to have disappeared under mysterious circumstances. According to the US Navy, the triangle does not exist, and the name is not recognized by the US Board on Geographic Names.

More than 1000 ships and planes have disappeared in the triangle area over the past five centuries and continue to do so. And all these happen when apparently there are no human errors, equipment failures or even natural disasters. Strangely, the ships and aircraft just vanish when everything seems to be okay. Many believe that Devil is at play here and therefore call the area also as Devil’s Triangle.

Notable unexplained dissapearences: Ellen Austin,USS Cyclops, Carroll A. Deering, Flight 19, Star Tiger, Star Ariel, Douglas DC-3, KC-135 Stratotankers, Connemara IV, Flight 441, Mary Celeste – The Ghost Ship, and many others.
