Ley Lines Unearthed (2012 Edit)
This version has better sound and a new shot of Blarney Castle and Timoleague Abbey. The story of Ley Lines Unearthed began during the summer of 2007. It was around that time that I’d purchased my first home internet router so I was able to spend more time online. Prior to that I was online at work & at the call-shop but my new home connection allowed me to spend more time researching. For the seeker the internet is the greatest asset since public libraries became commonplace. In this age we can all develop our own individual set of beliefs I think.
Anyway this research quickly led me to the work of American author Terrence McKenna. One of McKenna’s ideas is known as novelty theory. It predicts the ebb and flow of novelty in the universe as an inherent quality of time. McKenna recorded a lot of his workshops & these are available on the podcast channel “The Psychedelic Salon”. If it wasn’t for iTunes I may never have drifted into this area. McKenna delivered some amazing information during his career.
Scientist Rupert Sheldrake often spoke at McKennas workshops & it was Sheldrake who first introduced me to Ley Lines & Earth Energies. Ley lines are alleged alignments of a number of places of geographical interest, such as ancient monuments and megaliths that are thought by certain adherents to New Age beliefs to have spiritual power. Sheldrake refers to these energies as “Morphogenetic Fields” but other terms like ‘Meridians’ ‘Dragon Lines’ are also used.
Crop Circles also frequently appear near recognized Ley Lines & it was while researching crop circles that I first encountered the professional lecturer, filmmaker and researcher of ancient civilizations – David Wilcock. Ley Lines are an aspect of the research covered on the Website “Divine Cosmos” where Wilcocks ideas are outlined. Russian scientists have done extensive on ‘Torsion Fields’ which are similar to elctro-magnetic energy fields. In truth western science has only scraped the surface of this area.
One of my short films (Second Last House on the Left) was filmed at an old Abbey / Friary in Ovens Co. Cork, near my family home. Also near this place I learned of a Fairy Fort & path. There area number of parallels between Ley Lines & Fairy paths but this story need not stay in the local area. A scientist called Sanderson discovered during the late sixties a number of equidistant areas around the globe in which strange anomolies (disappearances of ships & planes) have been recorded. These areas, like the stone circles & cathedrals built upon Ley Lines, appear to be on a grid.
My reading has also led me to believe there is a correlation between earth energies and the Irish round towers. It is said the towers were placed to harness energy from the universe. So all of this research was in my head when a friend of mine suggested that I join him on a trip to Rome. Now when it comes to ancient sites, the city of Rome is like ground zero. My film is comprised of footage of ancient sites in both Cork & Rome & some elements from the actual trip. The studio part is an interview with Lou Martin — Conscious Channel / Spiritual Counsel / Energetic Healer. The narration is by Brian O Glanby.
